5 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (July 7) - WhatCulture

Jey Uso WWE Undisputed Universal Title

F*ck it, give The Bloodline two hours of TV time every week on SmackDown.

That's a bit over the top, sure, but drama between Roman Reigns, The Usos, Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman dominated a fair chunk of airtime on Friday's show, and rightly so. WWE has done a masterful job of prolonging this story. Now, it looks certain one Jey Uso will challenge Roman at SummerSlam. Excellent!

Elsewhere on Smackers, the women's scene continued to flap around awkwardly, but creative does have IYO SKY's potential Money In The Bank cash-in to try and pique some interest in...whatever's going on with Asuka, Charlotte Flair and Bianca Belair. The whole thing is a little messy, being brutally honest.

Edge's return was one of the bigger moments from the broadcast too. Typically, the legend went out of his way to elevate a younger star, which was appreciated. Karrion Kross must be wishing he was Grayson Waller right now though, because he was anything but elevated himself.

Seriously, somebody needs to explain what WWE hopes to achieve by making Kross look like a loser. That situation isn't exactly helping AJ Styles either, so it's coming across as completely pointless.

Here's all the good and bad from another blue brand week!
