Tory Lanez Bail Increased for Violating Megan Thee Stallion’s Restraining Order During DaBaby Festival Set
After being arrested last summer and subsequently charged for felony assault over an incident where he was accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion, Tory Lanez was issued a protective order. A judge required for Lanez to refrain from contacting or coming within 100 yards of Megan. Today in a Los Angeles court appearance, a judge ordered Lanez to pay additional bail, saying he violated the protective order during his appearance at DaBaby’s Rolling Loud Miami set, Billboard and TMZ report. His bail was increased to $250,000 from $190,000.
Lanez made an unannounced appearance during DaBaby’s set—which also featured DaBaby making homophobic remarks that led to multiple festival cancellations. His surprise guest spot happened just after Megan left the festival stage.
“You’re facing years in prison, over 22 years in prison," Judge Keith Borjon told Lanez in court today. “They could have filed an additional charge based on violating the protective order because that's a violation of law as well. You do not want to be doing things like this sir. You have the means and the where with all and a lot of smart people around you to advise you as to how you should be conducting your life so we don't have to have hearings like this.”
Tory Lanez has denied allegations of wrongdoing in lyrics from the album DAYSTAR. In an op-ed published in The New York Times last year, Megan Thee Stallion wrote about being “the victim of an act of violence by a man.” She also alluded to the incident on her album Good News.
