The engagement so nice they’re doing it twice.
Ben Affleck was snapped browsing engagement rings at the Century City, Calif. Tiffany’s in the company of his mom Sam and son Samuel Monday — presumably for his on-again love Jennifer Lopez.
You’ll remember that Affleck first popped the question to Lopez back in November 2002 during the Bennifer 1.0 days, using a 6.1-carat pink diamond by Harry Winston that reportedly cost $2.5 million.
But the couple decided to postpone their planned 2003 wedding, blaming “excessive media attention” in a statement.
“When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations,” they wrote, “we realized that something was awry.”
The couple officially broke things off in 2004: “Jennifer Lopez has ended her engagement to Ben Affleck. At this difficult time, we ask that you respect her privacy,” a rep snipped to People at the time.
Of course, as a well-informed Page Six reader knows, Lopez, 52, and Affleck, 49, sparked things back up in April, just a month after she ended her two-year engagement to Alex Rodriguez.
The two have been virtually inseparable since then, and have worked hard to have their families along every step of the way …
Their brood had a joint outing in July, Affleck dined with both of Lopez’s kids in Malibu in June, and they had a blended outing at Universal Studios in Hollywood in July.
Affleck also spent time with Lopez’s mom in Las Vegas in June, because Affleck’s good with moms like that.
But Bennifer 2.0 has also made plenty of time to hang out as a couple, with trips to a luxe resort in Montana, the Hamptons, and an LA traffic jam.
Clearly, given where Affleck spent his Monday, it’s working.
